We’re not sure if we can refer to a pastel tone as a “dark horse”…but pastel pink was definitely the dark horse trend of Fall 2013. The It color of the season was seen on tons of the Fall 2013 runways, if not a little sparingly: most designers dipped their toes into pastel waters for the traditionally-dark season, but that little taste was enough to make fashion influencers dive head-first into the trend!
Pops of pink took the Carven, Paul Smith, and Mulberry AW13 collections to new heights, and regular high fashion heavy-hitters like Marc Jacobs, Prada, and Celine featured the girlish hue too. Popular tones ranged from the bubblegum variety to a dusty rose shade, from ballerina blush to pastel pink. While the color barely made a dent in the runway shows of Fall, it has dominated the street style world ever since!
If you want to add the It Factor to your look, your best bet is incorporating pink into your winter wardrobe. You can do this pretty much however you want- a big pink coat is sure to make you an overnight style sensation, and pink fuzzy sweaters are a darling way to throw it back to the mod 60s. A pink midi skirt is a sweet-as-pie take on the trend!
stylehaus makes getting the look a no-brainer: swing by and try on our pale pink suit! Wear the double breasted blazer and slim trousers together or separately. However you wear them, you’re sure to be on-trend.
The one rule for wearing pink? Make sure your look isn’t overly sweet. Balance out the saccharine color with something a little off, like frayed cutoff shorts or sporty Nikes.
