14 Best and Worst Dressed of Golden Globes 2015

BEST

1. Emma Stone

Prediction based on this ensemble: Emma Stone will be THE Manic Pixie Dream Girl of 2015.

2.. Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace and Forevermark jewelry.

Stomach slits and a plunging neckline rarely amount to good taste, but Kate Hudson and the seasoned pros at Atelier Versace make it more than work in this sleek white gown.

3. Sienna Miller

Embellishment inspired by magical fairy wonderlands done right. Sienna Miller would be a magnificent wood nymph.

4. Julianne Moore

Although accepting an award on Alzheimers, Julianne Moore did not forget how to dress. I wish I could say the same for the rest of Hollywood.

5. Chrissy Teigen

If you look up “jaw droppingly gorgeous”, a picture of Chrissy Teigan’s 2015 Emmy dress should appear. Simultaneously sophisticated and sexy, this sheer floor length stunner is sensuality embodied.

6. Lupita Nyong’o

Showing off her toned shoulders with a strapless neckline, Lupita looks gorgeous in royal purple yet again. I love the lush layers of fabric and color blending.

7. Felicity Jones

The new old look: a classic Dior silhouette is modernized with a deep emerald wash.

Worst

1. Claire Danes

Claire Danes in a dress by Valentino and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Claire Dane’s odious Golden Globes outfit is the unwanted offspring of a tacky scarf and frumpy dress.

2. Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley in Chanel.

In a recent interview, Keira Knighley said it took 30 people to create this Chanel monstrosity. 30 people should be fired losing their jobs right about now. Also, who thought “there aren’t enough butterflies already in this look, let’s add a butterfly clutch”? Because that person should look into another field. Maybe one in an actual field.

3. Maggie Gyllenhal

Could Maggie Gyllenhall not find anyone to lend her jewelry? Like you didn’t want to slap anything, anything at all for a major televised awards show?

4. Melissa McCartney

Melissa McCarthy in a black and white dress with a Carla Amorim ring and Doves by Doron Paloma earrings.

Who is the genius that put Melissa McCarthy in ruffles and a massive freaking bow? She’s a full figured woman, not a toddler.

5. Robin Wright

Is Robin Wright depressed? Is Ralph Lauren depressed? I’m genuinely concerned. This is concerning.

6. Jemima Kirk

7. Tea Length Triple Terror

Julianna whipped this look up from some old curtains in her spare time because she’s really into DIY right now.

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington in Mary Katrantzou.

Kerry Washington looks like an actual angel, which makes whoever put her in this tea length color blocked eyesore at minimum a lesser demon.

You don’t do ankle length with petite women and this is why: it cuts them off. Down with dressing adult women like American Dolls.

The MTV Awards is one of our favorite red carpets to watch because it is a hotspot for fun fashion risks, and just about anything goes on this night! Stylish celebrities came dressed to impress in designer duds, but some of the looks were more tasteful than others, and we decided to pick a few of our favorites of the night! Kerry Washington and Zoe Saldana prove that great fashion minds think alike, and both paired long-sleeved black tops with dramatic eye-catching skirts by Michael Kors and Givenchy, respectively. Selena Gomez looked edgy and all grown up in her braid and gold fringed mini by Julien Macdonald, and we love the color-blocked neckline on Emma Watson’s dress by Maxime Simoens. Kylie Minogue went for a belly-button-bearing metallic frock, letting the dress speak for itself and avoiding accessories (although we would have loved her to add some statement earrings or a fun ring). As for favorites of the night, the similar looks by Kerry Washington and Zoe Saldana were spring-inspired red carpet done right, and we love Emma Watson’s edgy-yet-girly high fashion look. These celebrities in particular are always stylishly consistent on the red carpet, and for that reason are some of our favorite starlets to watch! Which of these fashionistas should have earned the style award?

Celebrities (typically) look amazing from events, to street style, the red carpet, and everything in between. Ever wonder where these looks come from? Straight off the runways, of course! Often time’s celebrities will change the runway look to add a little flair of their own. In these spring celebrity looks, Jessica Chastain and Gwyenth Paltrow opted to shorten their dresses, whereas Anne Hathaway added a little length. Cate Blanchett even changed the outfit all together by pairing her peplum with black pants instead of patterned ones for a more refined look. Comparing the runway to celebrity looks, which do you prefer?
