We love seeing how celebrities adapt runway looks for their special events! Sometimes they add fabulous accessories to change up the look like Olivia Palermo, or even shorten a dress for a completely different take on the runway style like Heidi Klum. Karolina Kurkova went for a 2008 Versace runway design, but this bubblegum pink tone of the gown has a completely different feel than its silky, champagne-colored original. If anyone can pull off this black and white Saint Laurent look complete with an oversized hat, it’s Rita Ora! She gives an even edgier feel to the look, and we love her willingness to take a risk on the red carpet. Of these runway to red carpet looks, which do you prefer? Is the original always better, or do these celebrities add a fun flair?

Celebrities (typically) look amazing from events, to street style, the red carpet, and everything in between. Ever wonder where these looks come from? Straight off the runways, of course! Often time’s celebrities will change the runway look to add a little flair of their own. In these spring celebrity looks, Jessica Chastain and Gwyenth Paltrow opted to shorten their dresses, whereas Anne Hathaway added a little length. Cate Blanchett even changed the outfit all together by pairing her peplum with black pants instead of patterned ones for a more refined look. Comparing the runway to celebrity looks, which do you prefer?

Vacation in St. Barts

Whether Olivia is on the beaches of St. Barts, strolling the streets of NYC or shopping in Italy, this jet-setting fashionista always looks stylish and put together! Her style is classic and tailored yet she always adds a bit of girly detail into her clothing! For the most part, you will never spot Olivia in heels less than seven inches tall, but while vacationing in St. Barts, we are guessing she made an exception. Her laid-back bathing suit cover up and crochet handbag are the epitome of casual-chic, and we love how simple yet stylish her beach outfit is! Her winter looks in NYC and Italy are a bit more covered up (considering there aren’t hot sandy beaches and 85 degree weather!). She looks quite bundled up, but pulled together in her signature tight pants and oversized coats and bags! Wherever Ms. Palermo is off to next, we are sure she will be looking fabulous while there!

Olivia Palermo really understands fashion and she always manages to look so put together! Olivia’s fashion secret is pretty obvious; she mixes classic pieces with more modern, slightly edgy items (combining vintage and contemporary items is one of our top styling tips!) This peachy-red jacket is very reminiscent of a Jackie Onassis coat, however, the leather pockets give it that more contemporary edge. Her black crocodile bag, skinny cropped jeans and vampy pointed pumps create a classic city look! Slip on some oversized black shades and your outfit is complete!

Trend Report: Mix 'n Match

Long gone are the days of matching your handbag to your shoes. Or even your top to your bottoms. Lately, we’ve been more than intrigued by the mix and match trend turning up on both the runways and the streets. Intimidated by this tricky trend? Start by pairing pieces that are in the same color family, like Whitney Port did. Work your way into prints that are complementary colors to avoid looking like you got dressed in the dark. This is clearly a trend to play around and have fun with!
